  • Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: I'd Try MMA, But I Would Probably Get Beaten

Anthony Joshua is willing to try mixed martial arts, but the unbeaten heavyweight champion admits he'd probably lose in that sport. The 6-feet-6, 250-pound Joshua told Sky Sports for a story posted to its website Monday that he is intrigued by the possibility of participating in an MMA match. The attention the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor boxing match has received has made Joshua realize he could make plenty of money and attract a lot of attention if he crossed over to MMA.

Roy Jones never made it, Mr. Joshua. If you're referring to that MMA bum that Jones knocked out cold, that doesn't count.

With some good takedown defense training i think he would have a good chance to KO Miocic early.

Toney and jones were so past their primes a prime Tyson would have won some by landing before getting submitted but still would have lost 70% of the time against greats

Joshua would have a punchers chance who landed first his punch not theirs because they have no standup or D or their kicks to head or legs would beat him

He would be clever to disallow takedowns but he would be even cleverer to disallow leg kicks too. If it was just boxing + high kicks and "dirty boxing" then I would be intrigued to watch a boxer vs mixed martial artist crossover fight

respect for keeping it real!! AJ will do decent in mma though just based on his size alone. Plus 90% of the HW in mma aint got no ground game any ways so he aint gotta worry about getting taken down.

Anthony Joshua vs Stipe Miocic probably the next Boxing vs MMA Fighter match eventually! Stipe is a excellent striker and moves very well for a Heavyweight! AJ kills him but I think it could draw big in the UK but Stipe needs to get more popular first!
