We're all a bunch of mugs

I was looking to see how to watch the fight in the UK (Sky), but stumbled upon the UFC website. They have what's called a UFC Fight Pass. This includes Live Events, UFC fight library, The Ultimate Fighter TV Show. Not to mention their new Originals series that features FIVE LIVE FIGHTS EACH WEEK!!!

Price? £4.99 a month or £42 for a year. WTF!

Oh, and it's watchable on PC, TV and phone. I'm a huge boxing fan, but why is boxing so behind in this regard? Yeah, I know UFC is one org, but **** me if we're not being royally screwed.

Boxing as it's currently run is a living dinosaur. But there's no new ideas or organisation that can get the support to force a change.

Boxing has the dumbest fans of all sports. Can't get the fights they wanted and just eat the s.hit fights the promoters, boxing orgs, cherry picker boxers, served them.

Worst of all these dumb boxing fans will buy $100 joke, farce fight.

Does the fight pass include PPVs? Does it include a boxing PPV, which is what May/Mac is? I doubt the latter.

In terms of boxing, the UK has Boxnation where the vast majoirty of boxing is viewable. Not necessary to have a monthly sub and you can view online too. I'm pretty sure TR and Matchroom have an online portal too.

You don't get live PPV's on fight pass, you get to watch them weeks/months later though.

Boxing is about as innovative as a 70 year old accountant. They really need for some of these old guys to die off so the new blood can start shaping the future of the sport. Or these fighters need to quit being beta cuck boys & take f#cking charge themselves & tell their promoters how its gonna be & control their own destiny & work their hustle whatever that hustle is.

I think we'll get someone thinking creatively soon cuz there is a ton of money to be made for whoever brings in new young fans to boxing, but you gotta make some kinda move thats different. I still say whoever dips into the streaming marketplace with live boxing is gonna make some nice $ + garner new fans, but so far it looks like no one is gonna be on that til Disney starts there streaming network in 2019 & seemingly will be showing ESPN boxing on that platform. I think someone will get into the game before 2019 doe.

Still gotta buy the PPV's, but you get a bunch of live events. And they are adding new shows all the time lately. Its a good value from what I see.

I'd love for boxing to have something like this with HBO or Showtime with a catalog of bouts that I can watch at my leisure. Idk why boxing is so stingy with its content. Its like they don't want you to watch great fights unless they want you to see it. HBO + Showtime should have all their fights viewable with a subscription.

Well the boxing model is based on bleeding as much as money as possible from a loud but relatively small fanbase.

Thats a whole other problem with 80% of boxing fans being in old folks homes or wearing adult diapers. Gotta start trying to appeal to younger fans & part of that is just respecting fans time & making the best available fight for guys every time out which boxing has done a better job of in 2017 then any year I can recall.
