If Ward goes nutcracker crazy he can beat Joshua that way. But Tony Weeks would have to be the ref though.

Easy to say that when the champ has three fights lined up though

Wards problem will always be reach, his reach is below average for his height at 71". While that has not been an issue even as a LHW where he has below average reach, at HW everyone will have 6+ inches on him. Yes, Tyson had the same reach as Ward but Ward isn't Tyson and he can't use power to bull his way inside. At least RJJ had 74" reach and a style that allowed him inside Ruiz's 78" reach which is about the starting point for the big HW's today. Joshua may not "be off the table" but Ward and Hunter may be "off their rockers".

Ward should go after Wilder cuz Joshua seemed locked up for the next 8 or so months with Pulev & then Ortiz to fulfill his abc group bs. Could make Ward vs Joshua be a unification fight. I like Ward chances vs Wilder a whoooooooole lot better than vs Joshua. Ward is outboxable, Joshua is outboxable, but I think his boxing IQ is a lot better than Wilder's so he'd likely just walk down Ward til he got Ward in a bad spot & took him out.
