Comments Thread For: Bob Arum Talks Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux

A fight between Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux could become a reality towards the end of this year, Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com. Lomachenko is penciled to return to the ring on December 9 or 23 and the location of that fight could depend on whether he faces Rigondeaux or junior lightweight contender Orlando Salido.

"I spoke to Roc Nation recently about Lomachenko fighting Rigondeaux," said Arum. "Rigondeaux has agreed to move up from 122 pounds (where he holds a world junior featherweight title) to face Lomachenko at 130 pounds."
"Rigondeaux is entitled to a big purse,
but not a crazy purse. This isn't Christmas, where you give everything away."-Bob Arum

This is for the people saying that Rigondeaux shouldn't have a fight with loma....so many excuses.....now if it does not happen in Dec. you people can cut the excuses out!

Arum should just offer 1 Mio $ to Rigondeaux. This will be enough.Indongo gets a 7 figure purse so why shouldn't Rigondeaux get it ?

I wonder what Arum considers a "crazy purse". I really feel that somewhere between 700 to 750k is a fair amount for Rigo.

            In fairness its almost Christmas.

They really gonna put a fight on that close to Christmas? Is that a thing? Seems like theres never a big fight that close to Christmas.

It seems like they're actually pretty serious about making this fight. I think that's probably the first time I've thought that about anyone calling out Rigo. Probably because Bob feels pretty confident of Lomachenko winning. Don't know if I can blame him honestly, as good as Rigo is it's obvious that Loma's skills are special.

If Indongo gets a million they should offer that to Rigondeaux, too.

                    Make it happen.
Roc nation awarded BET star Ward $5 million guarantee in the Kov 1 fight.
No reason why they can't spare a few hundred K for the Cuban.
