He should just go pro. He's the best amateur fighter from England/GB I have ever seen. Too bad the results won't show that.
It's also a good time to turn pro from a financial point of view with Hearn, Warren, McGuigan and Haye all willing to pay good money for top talent and all with their own television deals

I feel that Willie Hutchison and Daniel Dubois could have stayed amateur and picked up some senior experience, but McCormack is ripe now imo

I don't understand why Hutchison went pro. I know people were impressed with Ben Whittaker but I think Hutchison could have been a better representative for team GB at Middleweight.
I was impressed with him at Youth Worlds in arguably the best division in that tournament.

McCormack should go pro for sure. Like you said no point in waiting to potentially get robbed again. Waste of time. If he was like 19 or 20 I would say to just wait, but he's a 22. The best time to go pro is now!
He'll probably compete at Welterweight first. I could see him as the future of the Welterweight and Light-Middleweight divisions.

I don't know why I still watch amateur boxing. I'm always left disappointed with the things they do. I guess it's because we get to see the potential future talent.

      • Remember McCormack dominated Zhussupov in the Olympics and just somehow only won via a split decision.
Now McCormack gets robbed and Zhussupov will leave with a medal.
        That makes me so mad.

            And got robbed. Welp.
I was watching the other fight but I am not surprised. I am almost sure they'll give Gyiasov the gold. Gyiasov is not good. A few months back Iglesias beat him up pretty bad in 5 rounds.

I think Haye must have offered him a ****load of money. At least he has a good trainer in Ismael Salas

Yeah he's got plenty of experience. Fewer medals than his talent deserves, but there's no guarantee that he won't get a nightmare draw or robbed in the next tournaments as well

The pro game is often just as bad to be fair. The boxing business just sucks, but the sport itself is too beautiful not to watch

If I'm Hearn I would sign McCormack and Nyika. I know Nyika is from New Zealand but he just screams star. It'll be smart to sign him.
And you may get a triple deal with McCormack because I imagine his twin brother will sign as well. Luke is not as talented but he also has talent.
Calum French, their gym teammate, may follow them as well. French is really good but he's not getting the results he probably hope for and he's also 22. I don't think he's getting robbed so far at least but will he risk it?

Man, Eddie Hearn should hire me. I know what I'm talking about lol.

Who do you think is better for McCormack? Hearn or Haye?
He has to analyze his deal options. Olympians go with Hearn though.

Yeah, there is corruption in pro boxing just as well. Everybody always gives amateur boxing a hard time but they often won't do the same for pro boxing.

I don't think Giyasov is that bad, but he definitely gets lucky with decisions.
There is just no way he won today.
McCormack made him miss like crazy and outclassed him in that last round.

Even Giyasov's corner looked like they were panicking during the fight and they didn't look sure at all after the fight.
I mean what else did McCormack have to do?

I'd say Warren might be the best option for young British talent right now. He has one of the biggest sports channels to himself and desperately needs some elite talent to put on his shows. Yarde and Dubois are getting pushed like crazy and McCormack would be too

Btw Joe Ward is another I'd love to see signed by a major promoter sooner rather than later
