Connor McGregor: From the welfare line to 100 million dollar payday

Connor knows the struggle of humble beginnings. Floyd for all his posturing can't relate. His dad made decent money in boxing and you never hear about Floyd being a welfare child. Connor is from more humble background and it shows in his fighting style. He fights for his family and his people. Reading How tough he had it and how he made it big makes me respect him even more.

(This story first published over at usatoday.com.) The city of Dublin has no shortage of lovely spots that are easy on the eye and a visitor’s delight, but Tower Road in the suburb of Clondalkin will never be described as one of them. Midway along a tigh

Connor is well known for his generosity. I guarantee he'd willingly give Dana White money because he's his friend.

Good on Conor for making all this money in what is the biggest swindle in sporting history. Can't knock him for it, we would all do the same.

As someone who knows Dublin rather well, i'll tell you where he's from in Crumlin isn't that bad at all. It's just a typical working class area that you find all over Ireland or all over the UK. There's far worse places. I wouldn't call living in Crumlin having it tough at all.

As i say, good for him though, these are hard sports. It's worth getting schooled in the ring for 1 night to secure the future of your family. He knows that and put himself in that position. Good on him.

He hasn't just lived in Crumlin. He's said in a few interviews he grew up in the worst parts of Dublin.

He's from Crumlin and grew up there and then moved to Lucan with his family which is pretty nice mostly. Very suburban and also has a village.

The worst parts of Dublin are in the northern part of the city such as Ballymun and Finglas, places Conor lived nowhere near.

Conor had a fairly comfortable upbringing compared to many other working class folk in other parts Dublin and lived in fairly decent areas. Definitely far from a rough upbringing.

He grew up during the IRA war. Connor lived in a war zone. Floyd by comparison lived in Disney world.

You don't know how Floyd grew up. And nobody gives a **** how Conor grew up either. They have both become successful at what they do only Floyd never got knocked out while Conor tapped out. All you know is what you've read or heard about the two. You don't really know how they grew up.
