Bad move. This is flushing money down the toilet. Usually I say you should name sh^t after yourself when you got a name. Say this all the time with guys who start their own promotion. This is to the mainstream public doe. And Floyd's name is garbage, disliked, unappreciated to the mainstream public largely. He'd do better giving it some random name & then people randomly finding out its his gym more than naming it after himself to try to draw people in. Imo people will avoid this gym BECAUSE its got Floyd's name on it.

Yeah I agree, the only people interested in going would be the people who love boxing and want to become the best they can be at it, those people have mad respect for Floyd... but those people would also still know about the gym and go to it if it was under a different name. Whereas the casuals who there's a stigma against him wont.

Hopefully we're wrong and it works out, I can't blame Floyd for trying to expand his brand and everything but I think he goes too far sometimes and in business you can expand too far, sometimes I think he should stick to what he knows more, the guy tried to make his own record company which was always going to fail.

Maybe a good move, but either way, as long as he doesn't blow the money so much like it seems he does with so many luxury cars (who needs 30 cars etc), he should be financially wealthy for life. Win or lose against McGregor, he should save some of that money and invest in property because these guys blow a $100m quite easily.

If I made a fraction of what Floyd's made I could easily live a very happy life just off of the interest, seriously I'd buy a house and a few other things and after that I wouldn't have to touch the money.

That said I think you guys are wrong about the name. The stigma is the exact reason for the name. 1. Casuals recognize it immediately. 2. floyds work outs are legendary, even to casuals. 3. I personally think this app of his with him personally showing his workouts might really put it over the top especially in this day and age and may turn out more lucrative than the gyms themselves.

The market is already saturated with gym franchises. He need to come up with something completely outside of boxing. Maybe some upscale strip clubs or even a movie theater chain like Magic.
