Comments Thread For: Luis Nery-Shinsuke Yamanaka: Post-Fight Report Card

There is beauty in boxing that would be ugly anywhere else. On Tuesday in Japan, we saw one of those moments. Longtime bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka was under heavy fire. A younger, stronger man was putting all sorts of leather to him but he hadn't fallen. He was still throwing.

I saw the fight a couple of hours after the fight had ended in Japan and this kid Luis Nery is a beast! At 22 years old he's up there with Tank Davis as the two youngest champions in boxing. His fighting style is similar to Tank's also as he likes to load up on them power shots and wear his opponents down! Can't wait to see him again!

I felt sad to see Yamanaka lose. He is a great champion, but that young lion was too much for him on that night. I think if yamanaka goes back for seconds, he might do better. But, he's been winning for so long, and whipped many Mexcans along the way, so retirement might be the best option.

What channel was it shown on? Cable?

Shinsuke broke down and cried, that is the kiss of death. He did his best, it's over.

Yes he was taking alot of punishment but he's a true warrior! He made no excuses! Would love to see Yamanaka fight again. They showed each other respect before and after the fight so that shows that they are true gentlemen.
Yes it was on cable. It was on a Spanish channel. It's called BEIN.

I saw it with Japanese announcers. He's always a champion in my book!
