Yup weight of boxing gloves can slow a boxer's punches. 2 oz is a lot. Lighter gloves means faster throw and better velocity in the punches.

    Warrior spirit?

I'll reserve judgment until it's approve. Not really sure if it will be sanctioned though.. Floyd is Vegas. Vegas is floyd. They have been in cahoots for a long time. If floyd really meant to wear 8oz, NSAC will make it happen, if this doesn't get approved. To me, that says a lot if Floyd really meant it.

Like I said, as Teddy pointed out. This fight will be 2 counter punchers in the ring. Odds are against Conor, but at least having 8oz gloves does make this fight interesting since it does favor both to wear 8oz gloves. Both will have better speed with their punches.

Conor at least gets a punchers chance. While Floyd having 8oz will make him throw combinations. The thing is this will be 2 counter punchers in the ring as Teddy mentioned, as I do agree as well.

With 10oz gloves though, Conor has no chance at all, not even a punchers chance. His punches will be slow and ineffective. Floyd will have a field day with him.

It only is proper this fight be on 8oz gloves. I just hope it does happen.

Oh, and legends fight opponents for true competition. I don't think a non-boxer with zero professional experience is included in that category of what legends do though.

In recent memory the only fighter I remember attacking Floyd without giving a **** about counters was Maidana and he did a lot better than most people expected.

Don't get me wrong, he still lost the first fight it was like a 7-5 or 8-4 win for Mayweather. 6-6 at best if you gave every single close one to Maidana.

Maidana has an excellent jab and a really powerful and awkward looping right that's very hard to time. I don't see a boxing noob like McGregor being able to fight like him. Despite all the talking, I don't think Mcgregor has a mentality of not giving a **** like Maidana does. He's gonna get hit with some sharp punches like he's never seen before and will back off and go into survival mode until he quits on his stool.

Conor is ***ed either way. His big advantages are his size and his supposed power (which wont transfer well from mma to boxing imo)

        1. he boxes/counters. can he do this better than canelo?

        2. he fights inside. can he do this better than maidana?

Almost everyone mayweather fought was larger and had more power than him.

The skill gap between conor and maidana or canelo is massive, he wont perform a fraction as well as they did.
