Comments Thread For: Sanchez Expects GGG, Canelo to Hurt Each Other, Maybe Go Down

Abel Sanchez hasn't seen Gennady Golovkin get knocked down, but Golovkin's trainer thinks that could happen when he squares off with Canelo Alvarez on September 16 in Las Vegas. Sanchez said during a conference call Monday that he expects Golovkin and Alvarez to hurt one another during their middleweight title fight. He added that he can envision a grueling fight in which both boxers hit the canvas.

It is a shame only poor Sachez is left to do the promotions. Mayweather-Mcgregor fight has definitely damaged the PPV scene for GGG and Canelo

I was telling my homeboy on lunch yesterday, this is the fight to see if you gonna spend coin on combat within the next month

but the Floyd/Conor overshadows all combat events

props to Abel though, he knows to how talk a fight up.

has the Reynosos' been talking much to Spanish-language media?

I'm assuming they are just waiting it out till the other fight is over and done with. Any promotion, any money spent will just be overshadowed by May-Mac at this point. I'd expect to see a big push starting early September. Which is likely the right decision. Anything done now would just be in vain.

Agree with this 100%. I think Oscar missed an opportunity. There was potential for some cross promotional opportunities here.

Mayweather - McGregor will have a lot of eyeballs. Could've added to the buyrate.

I personally think Canelo - Golovkin will do over 1 million buys, but it could've done over 2 million with the right approach.

I haven't seen that from GBP thus far. All Oscar does is talk about Floyd.

This guy should make he's mind up what he thinks and just stick to it. I don't think for a minute Canelo can floor Golovkin myself. Or why we should expect him to.

This is what I was thinking. Make up your mind Abel. He previously said Canelo was not a big puncher as he is portrayed to be and now he says he thinks both guys will get hurt and go down.

Myself, from what I've seen, studied and analyzed from the two. I don't see Canelo dropping Triple G. Unless he is able to sustain a relentless body attack, but I don't see that happening because Canelo would have to worry about the incoming and counters after delivering those shots. I don't think he will stand in front of Triple G long enough to allow that to happen.

They both may get hurt. But I don't see G getting dropped, I can see Canelo getting dropped.

If Canelo beats Triple G and drops him and proves me wrong, absolutely I will give him his props and respect. That would be very impressive if he did that.

But we'll see what happens. It will be a really good fight, I know that. Not like that circus WWE event coming up.

Think he's trying to say GGG will drop Canelo, without being disrespectful lol but I agree with you. Just keep it real
