Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Fight Will Be as Competitive as Mayweather Allows

Former four division champion Roy Jones Jr. is expecting a Floyd Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) victory by way of knockout, when the unbeaten boxer returns to face UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Mayweather will square up against McGregor on August 26th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. McGregor, who is captured two divisional titles in the UFC and is widely considered as one of the best MMA fighters in the world, will be making his professional debut as a boxer.

      Taking a Punch

The ability to take a punch and absorb punishment is overlooked when it comes to UFC/MMA. Boxers, through sparring for years, are conditioned to getting hit and dealing with punishment. No other sport can make that claim. How will Conor respond to body shots, getting tired, not being able to hurt and opponent and not being able to retaliate effectively.

We've seen before when FM clearly dominant and could easily have went for the TKO, but didn't. I'm not expecting fireworks.

Check hooks and body shots. All night long. I don't expect to see many straight rights. It won't be necessary.

The body work will be text book lol

The bodyshots, the straight right counters will have Conor scared & confused within 2 rounds. I expect Floyd to be a bit more aggressive than usual, I think this will be his last fight he’ll put on a good show. Conor’s hands are always down and his chin straight up in the air that is gonna be his demise, Floyd will catch and really hurt him.

Nah, didn't you hear Floyd Sr. on UNDISPUTED? "Pull Counter" (which Skip Bayless doesn't know what that is somehow)
