Prolly to make it seem that he was attempting to make the weight but chico is right, 5 pounds isn't an attempt to make weight.

Gary Shaw, promoter of Diego Corrales, has announced to the media at the weigh-in for his fighter's anticipated battle with Jose Luis Castillo, that the fight is off. Yeah he needs to be fined or something, he's a prof athlete and making weight is part of the sport, you need to be punished for not making it.
