Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: McGregor Disguised 'Push Down' Well in Video

PAULIE MALIGNAGGI has once again denied suggestions of Conor McGregor knocking him down in sparring. Former WBA welterweight champion Malignaggi has been dismissing the notion of him being felled by the UFC lightweight champion in sparring ever since a photograph of him on the canvas started doing the rounds on Twitter. The picture showed Malignaggi on the floor with McGregor, who fights Floyd 'Money' Mayweather in less than two weeks time, looking back at him menacingly.

I'm honestly amazed at the amount of boxing fans coming out Against Paulie. Regardless of how annoying he is, McG is just as annoying as Paulie imho.

Regardless, I'm not going into the specifics of the Push/Knockdown, but it was against a guy who he threw in there for 12 rounds straight, not worried about changing out Sparring Partners to increase intensity, the sole purpose was to "fight" Paulie over the comments he made last December and so forth.

Again, this was against a guy who no one in the boxing world ever considered elite, he was only good Cotto, and a little Post Cotto, and that was a ****ing decade ago. He's lost 4 or 5 of his list 8 fights, multiple by TKO/KO, and we're going crazy over a Flash Knockdown AT BEST smfh.......this **** is so sad to me

I think people are coming out against Paulie because he blatantly lied. He talked a big game and unlike Floyd Mayweather he was unable to back It up. He told Mcgregor he could beat him with one hand behind his back and ended up getting dropped and lying about It.

Paulie Is not helping the sport we love by continuing to lie and recently saying that Mcgregor disguised the knock down well. He should have let It go and came back and beat the $h!t out of Mcgregor In their 3rd sparring session. Instead he packed his bags and went home.

The only thing that kills me about the situation is Paulie being so naive to think that McG's Camp and himself didn't have some type of ulterior motive by inviting him to their Camp.

Regardless of whether you think he lied about the Push/Knockdown imho is irrelevant. If I would have watched 36 minutes of McG destroying Paulie I wouldn't have anything to say on the matter, but this was two clips from certain angles less than 25 seconds combined showing what Paulie has already conceded in every interview that Conor got the best of him in 11 and 12.

Here is what I took from the slow motion video of the knockdown clip. I clearly saw McG's left hand cup Paulie behind the head/neck area and land a right uppercut then he went down. In a real boxing match, I guarantee you not every single Referee would call it a legit knockdown, the better refs would have seen that first and not called it. Just like Cortez.

I disagree. There was fist flying with no body contact or feet tangling together. While the impact of Connor punches weren't solid, he clearly connected. Deft would get called a knockdown
