Comments Thread For: Froch Still Confident He Would Have Knocked Joe Calzaghe Out

If there was one goal that Carl Froch would have liked to achieve - it was a showdown with his domestic rival Joe Calzaghe. Both fighters are in retirement, but Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) - who last fought in 2014 with a vicious knockout of George Groves - was gunning for a fight with Calzaghe (46-0, 32 KOs), who last fought in 2008 with a domination of Roy Jones Jr.

I preferred watching Froch, and liked the way he backed up his talk in the ring.

But JC would have boxed his ears off. JC beat - easily - a better version of Kessler than the Kessler that beat Froch. Stylistically, there is nothing that would make it a good match up for Froch.

lol yeah okay, Froch until the day he retired still got his feet crossed up when fighting.

Don't even get me started on Froch in 2009, one of the worst fighters in the top ten at the time. Poor balebce, sloppy footwork, wide punches, and stiff as a board. Calzaghe would have ruined Carl's career.

Quit dreaming Froch, Calzage was a level above you.

The only knock on Carl Froch is his obsession with Joe Calzaghe. Carl likes to say, "Either I'd have knocked Joe out or Joe would have won on points". That was also the case for Jeff Lacy.
