Plain and simple, he can't beat Corrales at 135 and he tried to pull the same ****. This man is a disgrace to boxing, and I believe never intended to fight Corrales again unless he fooled him into fighting at a higher weight again. This is pure bull****, and Castillo deserves to go down in the books as a fraud. Don't ever try to defend him again, Mexicanos.
Castillo took the cheap way out

The fight was a sure thing as early as February and Castillo still didn't try to make weight. Anybody who competes at the lightweight level or a division above could easily make 135 pounds in 3-4 months in healthy fashion. He knew he couldn't beat Corrales, and that's all there is to it. Corrales won the only legit fight between them, so I can't complain.Comment

angelo dunde is looked upon as a genious for cheating and keeping ali on his feet against henery cooper.....so if you call castillo a fraud then call ali a fraud!
castillo was still down to fight,
castillo was still ready to ko corrales again,
corrales didn't want the fight to go on.
castillos body couldn't do what he wanted it to do, he ain't the first fighter to find out the body has its limit.Comment

I just don't see what he was afraid of. He knocked down Corrales twice in their first fight, and that was at 135, until Corrales delayed the fight and won by a great comeback. In fact, Corrales has been down 11 seperate times in his career, while Castillo HAS STILL TO FEEL THE CANVAS!Comment

But look at the facts. He pulled out of the fight by not making weight, hoping to force Corrales into another weight class where Corrales' body, having made it down to 135, cannot compete. Castillo is a bull****ter.Comment

He's afraid of one of the 135lbs hardest punchers in history. We all know Castillo chin is made of steel, but the man can't take Chico's power. If the ref didn't stop the first fight, who knows Castillo might of been killed because of his iron chin.Originally posted by enadeusI just don't see what he was afraid of. He cheated the second fight & also tried to cheat in the third fight.Comment

I agree, if I was Corrales I woulden't fight having to lose the weight and giving the other fighter the advantage. But I doubt that Castillo intentionally didn't make make weight by five pounds, if someone can prove that he did I would be annoyed.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoBut look at the facts.
