Full ESPN Video: Stephen A. Smith and Floyd "Money" Mayweather

No time to watch an hour? Highlights:
    • Didn't think Dana really wanted the fight to happen
    • Why take the fight: Why not make 9 figures?
    • McGregor has never lost on his feet
    • McGregor is a lot younger, taller, longer reach, bigger.
    • His name is one of the two at the top of the combat sports world, next to Floyd
    • Jon Jones isn't considered at the top of the game due to racism, compared to Conor who does the same thing and gets put over
    • Mayweather's doing it for every race and country, but Conor's doing it for his own people
    • Floyd's the most accurate fighter in boxing
    • Floyd doesn't get credit for what he does outside of the ring
    • Berto was younger, a 2-time champion, a former Olympian, where Floyd was on the way out; criticized for that, but Manny can face a complete unknown
    • There's no losing at this level after making hundreds of millions
    • If he loses, he will walk out with his head high, happy
    • He's not the same fighter. He's lost a step
    • Berto should not have gone the distance with Floyd; obviously he's slipped
    • Last knockout was Ortiz, not Hatton (Smith error)
    • Floyd still has a sharp mind even if his body is broken down
    • Losing is never in his mind, but things can happen
    • Family and lifestyle will still be the same even if he loses; life goes on
    • Refreshing to have someone who can help promote the fight since everyone else wasn't heavily promoting to build the fight
    • He didn't like being called monkeys (Conor had referred to a Rocky movie and dancing monkeys in the gym)
    • "This is for all the blacks around the world."
    • Something's slipped since he's no longer 90% knockout ratio
    • Nobody's walking him down; he didn't run from Canelo, he was pressing the attack against Maidana
    • It can't be a defensive fight, he's got to go after McGregor because he owes the fans a better performance
    • Doesn't matter if it's not on the record, he just wants the check
    • De La Hoya was just trying to get Canelo to fight McGregor before the GGG fight; he's a hypocrite, and his drag/*******/alcohol isn't good for boxing. Nobody looks up to him
    • He's already done everything in career. He doesn't "have" to fight anyone. People are just jealous of his status, and anyone in his position would do the same thing for the same money.
    • Mayweather Promotions took (almost) all of Golden Boy's fighters, so they put Oscar effectively out of business
    • Re: upset boxing fans, the two fighters and Showtime will be happy, because they're getting paid, that's all that matters
    • His family is more important than his boxing legacy, and the money puts his family in a position where they answer to nobody
    • He works with NBA and NFL players to encourage them to do the same with their money: focus on taking care of their family and enabling their families to never have to answer to others
    • Talks about a Make-A-Wish kid that he met where it wasn't broadcast or mentioned in the media
    • Stephen A. Smith says it's Floyd's fault we don't hear about the sentimental Floyd (true). Floyd speaks about the good things his team does periodically off-camera, but doesn't want to speak about anything but promotion
    • He doesn't need to glorify what he does around the world for people, like other celebs who wants the public recognition in social media
    • It doesn't matter which Floyd people see as long as his family knows who he is (sounds like Cotto)
    • First retirement was really just a vacation/break to get his mind right (before Marquez). Second he didn't plan to come back (after Berto) but the money was too good to refuse
    • He gave Al Haymon his word that this is his last fight
    • He has a tax attorney and has all of his properties, but thinks that "the system" is trying to defeat him (sounds like Eddie Griffin)
    • He's a multi-woman man because he feels like it, Hugh Hefner does it and nobody discredits him, but Floyd gets flack as a black man
    • Doesn't consider himself an "African" American, but an American as a competitor in the '96 Olympics. But doesn't forget that he came from poverty and the streets
    • Even if America wants him to lose, all the matters is the money
    • He is human, he doesn't want to get hit, but he's going to go after Conor to beat AND embarrass him. He'll know not to disrespect an American ever again
  • Butt stuff

Doesn't change a thing, both Conor and Floyd are still momentous twats, but I hope Floyd puts a pasting on him pretty boy style.
