Comments Thread For: Timothy Bradley: I Don't Want to Do Any More Damage to My Brain

Timothy Bradley will always appreciate how much fans enjoyed and respected his epic performance in that unforgettable brawl with Ruslan Provodnikov. Bradley was so dejected during the aftermath of his extremely controversial victory over Manny Pacquiao, the former two-division champion says he had suicidal thoughts. Beating Provodnikov in their stirring slugfest gave Bradley back his rightful place in boxing and re-established the confidence he needed to upset Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez in his following fight.

Bradley, you shortened your career because you are ****** enough to try and prove yourself to the fans and critics that you are warrior and not a runner coward like they claimed in the Pac fight. Because of that ******ity you shortened your career tremendously but washed that controversy of the Pacquiao fight away and gained a whole legion of fans.

He never really got battered around in too many of his other fights, but he took about a career's worth of punishment in one evening against Provodnikov. Understandable that he doesn't want to do that again.

Bradley: I know it’s inenvitable for me to get a traumatic brain injury. But I know that if there’s any damage done, I don’t wanna do any more damage to my brain"

A brain injury can change the way people feel or express emotions. I wonder if Bradley already feel some kind of impact of brain injury in his everyday life. Maybe that made him scared and started to think about the future and decided to retire.

Still, taking punches to the head for 23 years is not healthy. Imagine all the sparring rounds, probably 1000+

And people criticize floyd for being a defensive fighting in order to take the least punishment possible, in the long run its always the smartest way. Tim bradley has shown tremendous heart, enjoyed many a night watching him fight. Enjoy your retirement champ.
