how do we know canelo has a chin?

What big punchers has he been in with? Or anyone with any half decent pop? Kirkland was a big puncher but hes useless so didnt get the chance to land anything big. How can we be so sure he can take golovkins shots? He could be packing nachos in that chin of his.

that wasnt a big shot that seriously wobbled him, and that was from a guy who predominantly fights at lightweight.

what happens when he gets caught flush by GGG?

In all fairness he really wasn't ready for that punch. I think he'll be much more prepared for this fight.

He was like 17 when he had that fight. He's got a solid chin, although GGG has serious power that can hurt anyone.

So. In his sport you will be wobbled and knocked down. GG hasn't fought a guy as skilled as Canelo either.

I'm not sure but we'll definitely find out. Can GGG take canelos power? Thats why it's such a special fight and I can't wait.

I would say Golovkin hasn't fought anyone with the SAME skills as Canelo. But he has fought skilled fighters. Canelo has his weaknesses in footwork, movement.

And while I feel Golovkin can be vulnerable to Canelo's bodywork, I don't otherwise feel that Canelo has a great deal of power.

To reverse the OP question -- Has Golovkin faced anyone with Canelo's power? The answer is, he has faced guys with way, way more power and crushed them.

He can't take too many of those punches no matter how good his chin is.

He needs foot and head movement so that Gennady punches himself out.

Skills pay the bills not power. Skilled boxers know how to put power in a box and force a fighter to use his skill.

Canelo is a more precise puncher than Lemieux and Jacobs. Lemieux and Jacobs didn't stay in the pocket with GG because of the incoming. Canelo will stay in front of GG because he isn't a mover. That puts GG in the danger zone.

Imo two things could happen outside of the easy predictability of what might happen. GG will outbox Canelo or Canelo will be able to take GG's punch and stop GG.

Chin and power are part of the skill set. I think Golovkin is superior on both counts.

Otherwise, both of these two fighters have various advantages in boxing skills. Both guys are skilled.

Looking forward to the fight because I know these two are going to rumble. So yes, chin and power will have a role.
