If McGregor had came into professional boxing against 1 or 2 known boxers

Would he have made around as much money as his typical UFC fights? Say he were to have his boxing debut against someone like Omar Chavez or Antonio Margarito, beat them...then have his second fight against someone like Gabe Rosado or James Kirkland.
Would those events bring in good money for him to be worth it?

... the guy isn't about boxing... he's about a huge payday vs a 40 years old Floyd...

I suppose the range of possibilities would include that. But imo that makes lil sense. You either come into boxing on a whole new career, which he isn't, & build slowly up the ladder vs low level or journeymen at best or you get the biggest fight for the most money which is exactly what he did if you aren't looking at boxing long term.

But yea I guess he coulda fought a Canelo, Manny, Spence maybe, Thurman maybe, maybe another guy or two & made the $3M-$10M he's made for his biggest UFC fights.

So yea its possible, but I don't believe it'd had made much sense cuz he'd be risking this very payday he showed himself able to get right out of the gate.

No it wouldn't. The freak show aspect and mystery is what makes it interesting.

And he would've lost against both this guys, let's no be ridiculous.

Would you have paid PPV for McGregor vs Omar Chavez?
