Something Is Up With Round 8.5 In The Betting Line For May-Mac

    Check this out...

FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS CONOR MCGREGOR – TOTAL ROUNDS
Odds as of August 9 at Bovada
    OVER 8.5 -105
    UNDER 8.5 -135

Over 8.5 Rounds is at -105 easily the best odds of all the rounds. Is Vegas saying this fight isn't going to get to round 9?

The odds for this round seem stark and jump out at you when looking the odds for the other rounds. Something seems fishy. Someone in Vegas is expecting something big to happen in round 8 it seems.

McGregor's corner will stop the fight. They're not coming out for round 9. I've always pictured ending that way. I feel Conor is tough enough to take big punches for a good number of rounds but by round 8 he will be mentally and physically done. They'll figure there's no point to keep getting hit, they've made their money.

Actually the way over/under works is 8.5 rounds would be the halfway point of the 9th round.

8 rounds, at 3 minutes a round, gets you to 24 minutes of fighting.

Championship MMA fights only go 25 minutes, and even then McGregor is known for stamina issues late in fights.

McGregor's only chance in the fight is to luck into a shot early in the fight (when he's full of energy, and Floyd is still gauging out McGregor's style in the first 1-2 rounds).

If that doesn't come through, the parameters of the fight are pretty well set; Floyd sticks that straight right into the pit of Conor's stomach, Floyd counters off of McGregor's shots, and fatigue for Conor will likely for sure set in around Rd 5-6.

How long a tiring McGregor can hold off a smart but pressing Floyd now becomes the bet; the betting line seems to peg that time as 2-3 rounds.

Yes, and going by this, Vegas does not expect this fight to get to round 9. Or am I reading this wrong?

Ok. So now we know how this fight is going to play out. Mayweather knocks out Conor in the 8th!

So Mayweather by KO is +300 for exact method odds. Mayweather in Round 8 is +1600.

            Time to make some money!

Well technically the halfway point of the 9th round, but yea that the line is favoring the under. Its been favoring the under the whole time the line has been out there. I bet on it out of the gate actually.

it's also about the same distance as a championship 5 round MMA fight. [8x3=24 minutes]

Connor is a supreme athlete he can go 36 minutes with one hand behind his back.
