Comments Thread For: Canelo: Mayweather Loss Made Me More Complete, Confident

Gennady Golovkin obviously is a very different fighter than Floyd Mayweather Jr., the one opponent who has beaten Canelo Alvarez. It is the differences in himself, however, that Alvarez expects to help him handle the problems presented by the Kazakh knockout artist in their middleweight title fight September 16 in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old Alvarez is thankful for the experience he gained against Mayweather and believes he is a much better fighter than when he lost a majority decision to the undefeated five-division champion in September 2013.

Canelo has shown he has improved on some things from that loss up until now. I can see it champ! I'm sure we will see a new wrinkle in the ggg fight as well, foot speed???

We're still lookong for a performance that validates this belief. I've seen nothing in the ring that makes me think he's materially better.

Hopefully we see it against GGG.

                    Canelito made the 152 offer.

There was no rehydration clause...he was not drained.
