Comments Thread For: Eggington: Hearn Mentioned Lamont Peterson For Future Bout

Sam Eggington will defend his European Welterweight title against mandatory challenger Mohamed Mimoune on the undercard of the Lightweight blockbuster between Anthony Crolla and Ricky Burns at the Manchester Arena on October 7, live on sky Sports. Eggington landed the title with a devastating tenth round KO to rip the title from Cerefino Rodriguez in Birmingham in May, adding the Spaniard's name to his ever-growing list of impressive scalps.

That would be a good fight. An inside war between the two.

Peterson's game is too strong on the inside. Id watch it though.

I would support the Egg to the end, but Peterson beats the bejezus out of him if has anything at all left.

One of the best inside fighters around in his day. Far too technical for Egg, even despite the advantages in size, weight and youth

He might not be skilled, boxes like a slugger, and doesn't have superstar appeal, but if Sam wins to the french guy, they would be 4 good wins back to back. He should be in a close position to land a world title shot.

I understand why Eddie Hearn is plotting to rob Lamont in the UK : my first candidate would of been Aussie-bum Jeff Horn who is a 50-50 fight with euro trash Eggington but then I remembered he has a fight with Pacquiao scheduled, then I remembered that Errol Spence has a mandatory ( I think not sure ) and the other American Keith Thurman is injured.

But I think its good news to be honest even though this Brit is undeserving of a title shot ( no surprise ) I would like Lamont put a beating on him in the UK.

Peterson will break him down with body shots and finish him off. That's a tune up for AP I'd rather see him versus Keith Thurman or Shawn porter
