    "Superfighter" heavyweight tournament announced...

... the trade paper Boxing News carried details of a heavyweight elimination tournament with a $5 million prize for the winner.

Due to be held in Melbourne later in the year with George Foreman as chief commentator, it will pit eight boxers against each other in the heavyweight class:

Chris Byrd, O'Neil Bell, Steve Cunningham, Samuel Peter, Alexander Povetkin, Shannon Briggs, Tye Fields and TBA.

Bout will be for four, three-minute rounds, though details are sketchy as it says there will also be "no draws". There will be quarter finals, semi finals and a final.

The prospect of Bryd vs. Peter is quite mouth-watering to me personally, and Briggs has long been calling out the Nigerian. With Sam Peter probably the most exciting name on that list at present, I have to wonder if the low number of rounds will work against, rather than for him?

You are not tired of seeing Tyson humiliated.......I would crack up if he ended up in there with Peter......Peter would crush him.I have never been a big Tyson fan but think he is an OK guy with a bad rap. With that being said I really don't want to see him beaten upon anymore.
