Who benefited more Corales or Castillo?

What do you think benefited more to these fighters. The rest Corrales took between the Castillo fight or the activity that Castillo has been showing (note: he fought a boring match in the beggining of the year but, he got a 12round workout).

Well Corrales needed a break thats for sure.I don't know that it helped or hurt either guy IMO.I suppose you could give a slight edge to Diego because he is a seasoned pro and a much needed rest should not make him rusty..........

I dont really know. Castillo took an easy fight which was good for him. It gave him some good work and maintained him in fighting shape, so that making weight for the Corrales fight wouldn't be as hard as if he had come off a larger lay off.

But to tell you the truth I think they both benefited from a slight respite.

Corrales absolutely had to have the rest...had they of fought 3 or 4 months ago like originally planned I dont think anyone would have given Diego a chance in hell...the layoff he has taken since the second fight is huge.

        Now...

It may not mean **** because it is very possible that Diego Corrales has been in a few too many wars...I personally dont believe we will ever see Diego physically be able to do what he did in the first fight.

Chico's mind tells him he can but more often then not a fighter never takes the same beating twice. (Castillo is that freakish exception)

BTW-I believe Chico and his team knew they were going to pull out of the fight long before they did...Shaw wanted revenge and so did Diego...they clearly would have been nuts to immediately jump right back in the ring with Castillo so they played a little mind/weight game with him.

They made him get down, train his ass off etc and then called the fight...they played a mind game but more importantly they were smart-they recognized that their guy was not ready to immediately fight JL...(I think JL had it coming after the weight issue)

He may never be ready but at least they have given Diego a shot in this one-rest favors Corrales!

definitely benefited Corrales more. Corrales has took the bigger beating and he looked pretty old as of late.

If anyone needed anything it was Corrales. The rest bought him a couple of rounds.
