Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: Rigondeaux Fight Would Play Out Like Marriaga Did!

As Vasyl Lomachenko (9-1, 7 KOs) came over to press row after his seventh round destruction of Miguel Marriaga on Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, talks turned to just who the defending WBO super featherweight belt-holder would like to face next.

Then simply pressure Arum to make this fight in December ! Whats the problem ? If Arum doesn't want to pay enough to Rigondeaux then take a part from your own purse.

You wonder if fellow 130-pounders will be reluctant to get in there with Lomachenko, who seems to only be growing in his dominance.

"No, you pay them," said Arum, believing that everyone has their price."You just have to pay them, the guys will go in (versus Lomachenko)."

Is it me, or wasn't Bob Arum just complaining about Rigondeaux wanting to be "paid?" Pay the man, make the fight! Stop going to the press saying "it's a **** fight," etc.

Didn't read the entire thing, but if Loma actually said it then he is becoming delusional , Rigo is 100x the fighter then ANYONE on Loma`s resume and thats the honest truth , smaller yes but 100x the fighter , I hope they get this fight made before Loma goes up in weight , because if he goes up again they will never face each other Rigo is too small.

Rigo gets dropped by jabs from cab drivers - so I know he's not lasting 12 with the lb for lb #1

I agree. Loma will KO him easily.

If Top Rank can pay Salido 720.000 $ then they can surely pay Rigondeaux 1 Mio $.

The size factor is obviously a big question mark for Rigondeaux, but even being the naturally smaller guy, it's pretty clear that an even maybe on the decline (I'm just talking age though, but I have yet to see any signs in the ring that are proof positive of noticeable slippage) Guillermo Rigondeaux is still an infinitely higher caliber talent than Marriaga is. Obviously.

If Loma truly believes this, then...well let's just say it ain't gonna go down as one of the smartest things he's ever said.
