It Is kind of a shame In a way that a guy from another sport gets the opportunity to fight Mayweather Instead of a boxer. I don't understand how people can't see how Floyd has hurt the sport. Remember when Floyd said It's not about money, It's about legacy? How Is a fight with a guy who has never boxed about legacy?

the fight is a joke but unfortunately mayweather stands to make more money off this fight than he would vs any 3 top welterweights combined. Khan never really deserved the opportunity either. He never even beat a top 5 guy at welter. As far as mayweather hurting the sport, he has to an extent. On 1 end he creates the biggest financial events in boxing history so that's good. But as far as selection of opponents, waiting fights out, etc, you can see how his approach has rubbed off on others. Canelo used a mayweather approach with ggg. You hear Loma saying there's no point to fighting rigo, you hear Davis saying he's looking for someone who'd do bigger numbers than Loma. We all know those fights should happen but the higher the risk, the less likely the fight will happen sooner rather than later.

Floyd was a great fighter but the way he went about his career with careful match making, waiting for the proper time to face certain opponents and his low risk high reward mentality has caused a trickle down effect that Is not good for the sport.
