Arum has a fair opinion but then again, as was said here by another comment, he made Pacquaio vs J.Vargas, Rios and Algieri ppv, and they were totally mismatches. And can Mayweather vs McGregor be as boring and one-sided as Floyd vs Guerrero and Berto, notwithstanding the sweet science skills that Mayweather showed? Maybe, but it sure can't be worse than that. Even Canelo didn't really do anything against Floyd. Maybe a southpaw, different kind of boxer from mma can do something, and if people pay to rather see that, so be it.

This is the best advice Arum has ever given. If you want to watch a real fight. One that's exciting and entertaining buy the GGG fight. If you want to watch paint dry buy the Runweather fight.

Boxing promoters are petty as f#ck. That said it'd be cool if promoters spent more time promoting events then sh^tting on other peoples events.

Just make good competitive fights you f#cking dummy ass promoters sucking the boxing world dry.

This is why the sport has suffered for so long. The PPV buys for big fights shows there's true demand for boxing. But instead we get these generally lopsided and poor cards about 80% of the time.

These guys could've consolidated and created one entity years ago (with Hearn & Warren). But Bob never wanted to give Oscar or Mayweather any respect as promoters/men. When will the sport grow beyond its antiquated structure? We can only hope, soon

He's actually not wrong though lol GGG and Canelo aren't that well known in the general American public. Canelo is just crazy popular with Latinos (this is a substantial portion of people though) and boxing fans.

I've been in my office in NYC all week listening to people talking about Mayweather v. McGregor. I've only had one guy mention GGG v. Canelo and he trains MMA lol I keep bringing it up and I get confused faces. I mean the firm has a whole bar rented out for Aug. 26th; seriously.

Mind you, my office is probably 90% white men who make north of 150k. I find it very fascinating. Pacquiao and Mayweather are true household names. Conor is basically there too. Idk how much it'll sell but it'll be a lot. I'm guessing 3 million buys.
