I think he was a good boxer. I believe he fought amateur & iirc won some regions golden gloves tournament back in the day.

He's one of the better strikers in the UFC but if he could be a good boxer he would be.

I watched that fight... imo Dominic Cruz has terrible movement - it's supposed to be his best asset but really he's way too wasteful and gives up too much ground to his opponent unnecessarily. Cody had better movement than him that's why he won the fight.

To judge if Cody is a good boxer, I think he'd have to prove it against someone better at boxing in MMA (tbh I don't know who that would be - I'm just saying the win over Cruz doesn't show as much as people say).
