This point is mute honestly, I remember Conor bringing this exact same subject up in the Press Tour to all the gullible casual followers about Floyd needing them in 10oz gloves instead of something smaller.

It's pretty clear what size gloves you have to wear above 147, and against another professional fighter, they may have been able to get NSAC's approval for 8oz instead, however, NSAC already stated days ago this wasn't going to change, and why would they? Give the best fighter in the last 10-15 years 8oz vs a guy who is making his professional boxing debut?

At this point I at least wish the Boxing Media would stop putting these ******ed story lines out there.

This is about keeping this in the news people. Doesn't have anything to do with a real discussion or offer. The commission won't let you even wear whatever gloves you want at 154. I believe they'd need to fight at 147 to go down to 8oz gloves.

Gotta keep the fight in the news & this is one of the ways to do that. Fight is still 22 days away. There is gonna be about 5-7 more stories like this people & maybe 2-3 the week of the fight specifically.

Conor is the one whose going to be getting hit constantly, so I don't think its in his best interest to use 8 oz gloves. Lets be real you take more of a beating in boxing getting hit repeatedly. Once an a MMA fighter gets hit and cant take it they try to go to the ground. Boxing is way more brutal than MMA.

The sport is setup like a circus sport. Its no surprise circus fights get massive attention.

Boxing needs some centralized power structure in the sport that puts boxing first over networks, promoters, fighters, managers or money. Til boxing has something like that we'll have circus fights & bs titles & etc & so on with the stuff thats a problem for the sport that stretches well beyond the boundaries of this fight. I mean ffs boxing doesn't even use instant replay
