    Is Ortiz really THAT GOOD?

He didn't look impressive in his last fight against british journeyman Dave Allen with 3 Losses.

Or it's just lack of motivation?

In my opinion, he's a well schooled Cuban with above average power who's cool under pressure and a great counter puncher. He seems to have all the tools in the bag.

But due to his nature in the ring, he's going to have performances where he doesn't look spectacular. I haven't the David Allen fight but I did see the Thompson and Scott fight in which both fought very negatively forcing Ortiz to come forward.

Overall he's a guy who' much more comfortable sitting back and picking his shots and countering. His power is what makes his style dangerous as you can't just come in on him and have your way.

I think a fight between him and Deontay ends with the Bronze Bomber on his backside.

Well he destroyed Kayode, Jennings and Thompson. These are not elite fighters but he did make quick work out of them and all 3 are pretty respectable opponents. But we do need to see him vs top HW's like Wilder, Joshua, Fury. I think he would fair well against middle HW's like Pulev, Povetkin and Parker.

not really, but are many/any of the current heavyweights? IM not buying this heavyweight resurgence bull****, i think joshuas good but the rest of them are unproven or look like garbage. Ortiz would have got flattened in past eras and i dont think hes tht great but hes probably the second best heavyweight.

The last time he looked really good was jennings, but to be fair i don't blame him for not being motivated agaisnt a english journeyman and malik 'please let me quit' scott.

we'll see how he looks agaisnt another top opponent....but it better be fast, dude is already a grandpa.
