Comments Thread For: Bob Arum On Working With Others on ESPN

This Saturday night from the Microsoft Theater on ESPN, WBO super featherweight titlist, Vasyl Lomachenko, faces Miguel Marriaga. There is a lot of talk of a future showdown between Lomachenko and current WBC lightweight belt-holder, Mikey Garcia (who's coming off his definitive victory over Adrien Broner this past weekend on Showtime). It would certainly be among the most anticipated match-ups for hardcore boxing fans that could be made.

Without reading this, I assume he welcomes it because he controls the promotion. But if his fighter was the B-side and had to go fight under another promotion or network, he'd try like hell to stop it from happening.

Bob Arum has no other option but to work with other promoters. The same way he didn't have another option but to leave HBO.

Wouldn't it be great if all promoters came together to form a federation of some sort? If that happened you would secure a huge TV deal, with ease. Everyone would be making money, ratings would increase (since there would be no trash fights only best vs best). But we all know these promoters are greedy scumbags and will never ever do something for the good of the sport.

Kim willingly whores himself to grandpa Bob for a free sandwich.
