Comments Thread For: When it comes to scoring fights, it's best to believe the media

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Watch enough boxing and it's nearly a certainty. Almost every weekend and surely a few times each month, the most frequent word in morning-after content on social media is "robbery" pertaining to yet another perceived judging disaster. That's a laughable suggestion. Members of the media are so biased and probably more prone to pick favorites than the average fan. The author's mentioning of the Horn fight proves my point. Horn outworked that little midget, but because the writers are so blinded by their love for Manny they all picked him. Best to keep these pencil neck f@gs from deciding the outcome of any fights, let alone title fights.

I wouldn't mind this. Like jury service, random selection from the most credible boxing writers at the event with proven experience and neutrality. How about 3 judges , two writers plus a Wimbledon style hawkeye. Anything is better than the current system.

A wider selection of judges made up of hall of fame fighters, media, refs, constant fight callers neutral, not 3 make a larger panel say 6 and you didn't mention the closer cards of Garcia Broner Garcia won 10 rounds

First off there should be more judges and second they shouldnt be judging from ringside, it should be from a TV monitor that everyone at home watches. I believe you miss a lot ringside compared to watching it on TV where you can clearly see both fighters.

Nobody would stand a chance of winning against a Top Rank fighter on Steve Kims card.

Journalists are probably the one group of people I'd trust LESS than the typical boxing judge. A lot of them are little better than the casual fans who know sweet FA about the sport.
