Comments Thread For: Lomachenko, Promoter Still Want to Make Salido Rematch This Year

Vasyl Lomachenko's handlers have tried to make a Lomachenko-Orlando Salido rematch for each of Lomachenko's last two fights. It still hasn't happened, but Lomachenko hasn't given up hope of getting a chance to avenge his lone professional defeat. Salido defeated Lomachenko by split decision in just the second professional fight for the gifted southpaw, a 12-round featherweight championship match three years ago.

Salido probably knows that Loma is going to go on to do big things so he'd rather keep his win and not give Loma the chance to avenge it. More than likely, when all is said and done, Loma will be the biggest name in the W column for Salido and he'd prefer not to end up like pac did vs Marquez.

Great. Nobody wants Salido. Rigo and Garcia are available and fans want those fights.

I'd like to see him fight Rigo but hardly anyone outside of hardcore boxing fans want that fight. Sucks but true.

Only hardcore boxing fans want to watch Loma or Rigo. Neither draws the causal fans.

You bring up a good point there rrayvez. I would not blame salido if that were the case. I also feel he might be getting paid much less than what he should for the rematch? i might be wrong but $700,000?

I'd pick Salido to whip that ass again.

This is why TR was kicked off hbo. No one wants to see Loma fighting some bum coming off a loss. Loma is never gonna fight Garcia, because Loma is either scared or easily duped. Everyone knows Arum only allows in-house fighting and tomato cans. While Mikey Garcia is taking the big fights, with big risks, Loma is chilling, probably not even training. He shouldn't need to, to beat this alleged boxer. Mikey Garcia takes Loma's spot on the p4p list. You can't be top 10 p4p fighting bums coming off losses. If a Haymon fighter did this the internet would explode with rage.
