Neither. He'll choose an opponent nobody wants and his fans will blame Arum

My gut tells me neither... But I don't think he can get away with fighting another Marriaga for his next fight.. So I picked Rigo... Yet both Rigo and Garcia pose serious risk for Loma, just in different ways. If Loma has power and a chin at 135, he might both beat Garcia and look spectacular doing it (if he's the talent that we all hope him to be).... But with Rigo... He might get a KO/TKO at some point in the fight... But he won't look super dominate... it might just be a well timed shot in the later rounds after a very even, competitive fight... But with Garcia, the difference in skill and talent might become more pronounced as the fight wears on... But this will never happen with Rigo....

Loma is in a very precarious position for sure.... He should really fight Rigo to prove that is as skilled as he says he is.... The only thing Garcia has on Loma is size and a little more power ( Garcia isn't a monster puncher)...

A win over Rigo is still more impressive than a win over Garcia.

Depends solely on the amount of money being put up; if Arum takes his piece, leaving $1.5m for the main event fighters, and Lomachenko takes his $1m+, Loma will fight whomever is willing to fight him on short money.

If Lomachenko is willing to give up some money, more will be left in the pot to pursue better opponents. Simple, really

I'm sure Showtime will be willing to pay Garcia and Loma 1 mil each.

Obv he's going to fight in-house. Yeah oh wow look how bad we want to fight these two guys who left Top Rank! Lomachenko taking the Pacquiao route, he is the next chosen one.

Has this deal with ESPN affected the dynamic between Loma and Top Rank such that Loma no longer has a say in the choice of opponents? Ostensibly Team Loma chose Top Rank because the promoter promised to fast track him to title fights and high calibre opponents.

I think Loma wants Salido badly. Unfinished business. So good on TR for trying to set that up. But I don't think Loma fights Garcia or Rigo next. Both have a history with Arum who, despite deBoeuf's assertion, is really not that open to doing business with fighters outside his stable. The former is a bigger, more powerful fighter, a real KO risk. The latter could potentially kill a fight with his defense and hurt ratings.

Neither of those guys probably. There are good opponents he could fight that are not those 2 guys doe. Probably gonna be a TR fighter doe.

In all likelihood, you're probably right.

They won't let Bob Arum run the show, though; Mikey is the Showtime fighter, Mikey will get to pick the promoter, and Mikey seems to be fond of working with Richard Schaefer.

Bob Arum is the type to cut his nose to spite his face, tbh.
