Crazy how some said this. Maybe Broner was never good, Broner and his fans or people rooting for him really lied to themselves and thought he only lost his fights because he wasn't tasking them seriously.
If Broner is serious he could beat anybody

His fans will continue to claim all he has to do is be more serious. The truth is he's simply not that good and I think most people know that now. He's still a name in boxing so we'll see Broner get many more chances. -
Broner was/is good he just plateaued in his success due to his inability to impose and inflict his size on his opponents. If broner cant impose his size for the advantage he loses, if broner stays at 140 he beats everyone else not named crawford or mikey cause crawford and mikey know how not to let broner use his size.Comment

I think he was a good fighter. The problem was that he was meant to be the next Mayweather or something but he was never going to be that good.
If you take away the hype about being the next Mayweather, he has still been a pretty decent world level boxer, just fell short of being a top level fighter and probably even further away now.
Basically it's a case of too much hype without the talent to live up to it and a lack of dedication that caught up with him in the end. At the end of he day, not everyone can be a top level boxer and Broner isn't. He's certainly no bum. He could have been better with more dedication but i still think he would have fallen short of elite level anyway.Comment

I'm not trying to crap on any of the posters, but Broners flaws have always been obvious. C and D level fighters were exposing weaknesses on him, and they were much smaller. If you thought Broner was going to be the next Mayweather, or resemble an elite level fighter. You're an idiot.Comment

This is why boxing sucks.
Mikey went up a weight class, beat a young, powerful fighter with a good chin and all boxing fans want to do is take the shine away from Mikey Garcia by saying Broner isn't good.
Anyone of you ever wonder why the Yankees can beat the Pirates in the World Series and fans/commentators praise both teams, but in boxing a good fight happens and the fans have to trash the loser?
Funny thing is the same people will list Broner as Mikey's best win they list his resume (so far).
Same thing with Canelo-GGG..people saying Canelo isn't that good, that he sucks, that he got gifts, etc...then they'll say that's GGG's best win.
I predicted Mikey would win in a competitive fight, but it wasn't competitive, too bad. But I give Mikey credit for making it non-competitive, he beat a strong, but inconsistent fighter in Broner.
Stop the bull****, just give the winner his credit and move on.Comment

If Broner wants to have any semblance of a career, he should look to change trainers. Mike Stafford has maxed him out, and there is a disturbing pattern among his fighters. They're very low volume and rely on pot shotting. A change of scenery should be an order. If that doesn't work, then it's time to wrap it up and call it a day.Comment

saying broner was never good is just ******ed.. hes not floyd buts he is/was a good little fighter. his mentality is horribleComment

Broner is now officially a B+ level fighter and I don't think it's because he comes to fights out of shape. I think the main reason is the fact that he has way too many bad habits in the ring that he and his trainer never seemed to even try to correct.
Bad stance, bad defensive habits like his horrible sense of timing the shoulder roll, reacts to feints really easily and the list goes on snd on, Broner's last amateur fight was at 14 or 15 and it was the Jr. olympics, he never fought in the golden gloves, he never fought in the nationals, never fought internationally, instead he went to jail and turned pro right after he came out, that gap really really hurt him plus the fact that his trainer was never the most technically sound / experienced trainer out there also hurt Broner. This combined with their lack of honesty to look at tape and point out the mistakes and try to correct them, the flaws were for the whole world to see but they were never worked on.Comment
