Mikey Garcia earned a 100% valid win over Adrien Broner.

However, I've browsed the forum, and not a single person believes that Garcia beats Terrence Crawford. I wonder why that is.

Could it maybe be the fact that, as I said, Garcia looked B-level during this fight, and happened to be in the ring against a D-level performer in Broner tonight? Because if Crawford beats Garcia, and I'm not sure he does, that makes Crawford A-level and Garcia B-level. IF they ever fight.

It felt like Broner was trying the same strategy he tried against Porter, to steal the fight by showing up late and letting his opponent gas. He's done it before, at least three times, and I don't have a clue why he keeps thinking that strategy would work. He beat himself. No weight drain, no beard, no strange refs, no excessive fouling. Just a ****** strategy.

I've said before and I'll say it again. The only reason for the odds is that you can never tell what Broner is going to show up. He's inconsistent as hell. That he could even get blood out of Mikey is telling.

NOTHING is taking away from Mikey's win tonight. It's in the books, he earned it, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

But let's not pretend that was the best Broner performance and let's not fool ourselves into believing that if you put Garcia in the ring with someone faster and more active, that Garcia wouldn't get absolutely handled over 12 rounds.

I actually thought he looked like he could go through more gears and levels if he wanted to. I think the fight was very easy for him and he just cruised and didn't change anything because he knew he was in control. If you think Garcia was "B-Level" in there, it's because that's all he needed to be.

I'm not saying he beats Crawford, just saying if Broner had got into the fight, i think Garcia would have just upped his game even more.

To be fair crawford hasnt beat any fighter on Broner level. Thats not hate just facts.

Broner was on point, Mikey showed an A+ showing against a fighter who has a granite chin and believe it or not Mikey had another gear to kick into if he was forced too (he wasnt), This performance knocks out 99% of all fighters.

Something casuals dont understand is you dont knockout out top level fighters (cause they have chins, know how to protect themselves, elude roll the shots etc), thats why it is always so amazing to see it.

Comparing Crawford, a top5 p4p fighter to Broner is crazy. TC is a tough challenge for anyone from 140 to 147, let alone fighters moving up from 135.

Fighting and Beating Crawford would require Mikey to go to another level, do I think he beats Crawford now? To be honest I can't pick who wins that fight as of now. But the day the Garcia v Broner fight was made, I knew Garcia would beat Broner without any hesitation in my decision.

So do I. And I firmly believe that had that happened, it would have resulted in Mikey getting the Roman Martinez treatment at least twice. Which is why Mikey didn't do that. Credit to him.

But the first part of that bolded statement is key and it's all I'm saying. Broner was not into the fight. Why, who knows. It's widely acknowledged he wasn't bothered by any of Mikey's shots and ultimately, Mikey won because he was the busier fighter, he was the aggressor, and he was the ring general. Cool. The question is why? The answer: Broner didn't show up.

If you accept that a showed up Broner would have walked Mikey down and bullied him like he used to do, would Mikey have been able to deal with that constant pressure? We don't know. That's my problem - he wasn't tested last night and he should have been. Now, people aren't sure he beats Crawford, aren't sure he beats Loma (!), it's like...that leaves him B-level. Is that fair? I don't know, because Broner didn't show up to properly test him so we COULD know what all he's capable of.

It's the same complaint I had with MayPac. Pacquiao didn't show up to test Floyd either.

Yet in Crawford/Gamboa, we got to see Crawford properly tested and we got to confirm that he's quality. Switching southpaw when even Roy Jones thought it was a ****** idea, turns out to have been the key to the fight. Those little things that let us know when someone is a caliber fighter. We saw none of that in Broner/Garcia because Broner didn't show up to force Mikey to pull out every stop to beat him. That's why I'm upset - because of Broner, not Mikey.
