Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter Reacts To Canelo's Stance on WBC, IBO Belts

Undefeated World Middleweight Champion GENNADY "GGG" GOLOVKIN wants to make one thing clear. On Saturday, September 16, when he faces Canelo Alvaraez, Golovkin is walking into the ring at the T-Mobile Arena the same way he walked out of the ring at Madison Square Garden, in his last fight -- wearing all his world championship belts.

Its obvious this is a response to what Canelo said earlier.

Your right. But its still hardly a response. More of a statement. Its not like he called ginger out on it or anything. All he said was "ggg defending all belts"

              yea

I think it just means, IF Golovkin loses.....

              * Canelo will become the WBA/IBF champ
              * the WBC/IBO titles will become vacant

Piss poor attempt at trying to read into it...

If he wins he will hold onto his belts and continue to pay four - maybe five - santioning fees, so that theory is debunked.

When i read this it tells me he is giving up his belts if he loses, so it's ******ity to get in line for another shot at them. I speculate he will either move up or retire if he loses this fight.
Golovkin is putting all his chips on the table and should be commended, or at least respected.

Seems like all along he just wanted all the belts to prove who is the best, and judging by his last interview - not the most famous boxer - just the best.

Canelo is only fighting for the WBA belt only then, lol. The IBF has a hydration clause, you have to weigh no more than 170 lbs on Saturday morning and I don't think that Canelo is going to hold back on weight. That's what Jacob did to have an advantage.
