  • Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Funny How GGG Goes 12 and Then Canelo Wants Him

Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBO, IBF, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), strongly believes that his boxer's last performance is the main reason they were able to land a fight with Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs). After two years of hype, Golovkin will defend his titles against Canelo on September 16th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the fight.

No ****. If Golovkin would have blow him out, of course they would have held off.

The fight would still have happened, Tom loffler or whatever his last name is, had to make concessions at the end of the day. I said previously that the older GGG gets the better for Team Canelo and not for Team GGG, they finally came to their senses in the end.

I agree that it would have went down, but I'm not so sure it would have happened so soon.

Wait a minute Abel. You said for more than a year, along with your sidekick, that negotiations were in play. You said this is the fight GGG wanted.

Funny how you ditched Expo 2017 while rocking tarps for 5 years only to choose Alvarez, a non belt holder over BJS and Astana for Undisputed. That's funny Abel!

Canelo is 27 years old with 51 fights. He may not have cracked age 30 yet but at 27 you not a spring chicken anymore and there is some wear and tear now. Physically Canelo is probably about 30. and who know's if Canelo is really even 27. he might just be 30.

This fight was meant to happen in September of this year as long as both remained undefeated. Oscar said last year it would happen in September of this year. Tom Loeffler said that Oscar told him it would happen in September of this year.
So Abel is just talking out his ass!
If you keep up on boxing then I'm sure you've heard Oscar say it would happen in September of this year.
So that was the plan all along so quit hating.

yep, and it is just as accurate to insinuate that Team Golovkin finally accepted because they do not want Canelo to mature at 160, especially as Golovkin aint getting any younger
