The numbers continue to roll in...The Showtime on CBS card featuring the welterweight showdown between Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia peaked at 5.1 million viewers last Saturday night. That was enough to make it the highest rated primetime boxing broadcast since 1998, with a 30% increase over Thurman-Porter (which also aired on CBS last year). The peak was hit during the 12th and final round of Thurman-Garcia...

Overall, the average viewership for this Showtime on CBS card averaged 3.1 million, with the main event averaging 3.74 million — representing a 19% increase over the Thurman-Porter fight last year.

Thurman-Garcia was also the number one most talked about event on social media for broadcast television last Saturday, according to Nielsen Social Guide (which takes data from Facebook and Twitter).

So all in all a successful night for boxing, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. You make good fights accessible and people will surely tune-in.

This is a HBO PPV not SHO. The last time SHO had a PPV that wasn't Mayweather was Pac-Shane Mosley in 2011. That will be HBO's 6th PPV this year.

This fight is gonna be on both showtime and HBO. Why would 1 charge PPV and not the other.. Obviously everyone will watch it on. Showtime if that's the case.

The first fight did over 1.5million PPV and had 90k fans in a stadium.. If the rematch is on PPV in the US, it won't even do 90k in buys.

AJ is a big star n all but not in the US. How can you charge PPV for his first debut fight in the US? lol. Vlad's fights have been shown in the US for years and he's even fought there but he's never been on PPV there.

But showtime gets delayed reply.. So people will just wait and watch the delayed replay on showtime.

But I doubt that rule still applies.. Remember HBO showed it on delay but because the fight happened in the UK HBO delayed replay got more views than showtime live because delayed replay was on at prime time. The rematch happening in the US so that's a big difference.. They can't do it like they did in the first fight.

I doubt any of those fights are possible with Hearn running the show. If Wlad is a free agent then maybe Eddie can get some other fights in there but with it being televised by both HBO and Showtime, I doubt that anything US PPV worthy would be added.

The fight card in Wembley didn't have much on there to begin with
