I picked Kovalev to beat Ward. Ward destroyed Kovalev, no excuses from me. Kovalev squared up & then it was all she wrote. You can't square up against elite fighters like Ward at this level.

Kovalev was done, he was not effective at all in the 2nd fight..Ward outboxed him and took all his weapons away..I thought Kovalev would win the 2nd and was wrong..Ward dominated him and made him quit

I was a big Kovalev fan, but Ward stopping him was inevitable that night. Kovalev would have either quit on his stool or done a "let me stand up a half second after the 10 count, so I look like I still want to fight (and not like a *****)." Ward was doing a number on him in that round (and was hurting him bad to the body all night - there were MAYBE 1 or 2 accidental and inconsequential low blows after a night of absolute battering to the midsection), and I respect Dre a lot more after that fight (especially his heart). Kovalev was exposed as a bully with no heart, and he would have fallen eventually as all bullies do.
