My analysis of how Conner Mcgregor can actually upset Floyd.

Floyd is a masterful slick counter puncher who relies on control of distance to fully neutralize opponents. Floyd’s weakness is he has created a habit of fighting in straight lines in order to effectively pull off his arsenal.

Conner could set up a swarmer type routine of pressuring Floyd with feints and bursts of offense. The reason Maidana troubled Floyd but never seriously looked like he could win is Maidana was horrible with feints, and only relied on offensive pressure bursts. Floyd soon figure out the pattern and easily got the upper hand.

The key is to BOTH FEINT AND CREATE BURSTS OF OFFENSE. Which Conner is incredible at.Mayweather although skilled beyond belief in defense and footwork still tend to anchors his back foot to the canvas rather than be actually ‘fleet footed’ like an Ali. This once again hinders Floyd in regards to lateral movement.

I honestly believe you will be hard pressed to beat Conner by fighting in a straight line. Floyd for all his greatness is still a straight line fighter. The best ever straight line fighter but still a straight line fighter, while the true T1 greats like Ali/Leonard/Robinson are all lateral line fighters.

Because of all this. I pick Mayweather Decision 7-5 in a very closely contested back and forth battle. Won't be anywhere near as easy as people think.

        Floyd doesn't have lateral movement?

        Floyd doesn't use angles?

Mcgregor needs to be a pressure fighter and fight for a decision?

Mcgregor needs to feint to create his offensive openings?

I don't see how Mcgregor is going to use feints effectively against Mayweather as that implies he's going to be actually boxing him.

As for bursts of offense you've got that part right, except there won't be many bursts before Mcgregor is gassed.

Conor's only chance is to all out bum rush Floyd from round 1 and get lucky with a big left hand before he gets tired, figured out, and beat up in the later rounds.

He should hire Kane and the Under Taker to rough Mayweather up a little and mentally alot to rattle him ,maybe in a cellar or something ? Get that competitive edge advantage and leave fear in Mayweathers head .

Only way Conor wins is to risk getting paid and straight up kick Mayweather upside the head
