Just checked the maxboxing forum. It is completely dead. On the first page there are threads going back 2-3 years. I remember when it was a very active forum with a good group of knowledgable posters. Hard to believe it was the same place given how dead it is now. Sad.

Not sure if Steve and Doug sunk the ship or got off the sinking ship but I am glad they survived either way.

I actually used to be a regular at House of Boxing because of Michael Katz and that eventually became Maxboxing. Kim and Fischer used to hate Roy before they hated Floyd. Even though I hated them for hated Roy and Floyd, the fact that they covered boxing made me stay on that site. I used to look forward to their TNR. They were good but just too biased against certain fighters.

some computer guy on another boxing forum that is dwindling in traffic claims the owner of boxing news 24 and esb used some negative tactics to destroy the ranking of all the boxing websites by using spamming, its why almost all the boxing websites are dead now, boxingscene is the only top dog left that the spamming clickbaiter esb bn24 couldnt take down.

Its sad really.

They had to chsnge their name because thomas hauser sued them, whats weird is hauser wound up writing articles for maxboxing later on.

Maxboxing was the best back in the day, they covered all the guys in the gym they were the first ones to pick up on edwin valero and show the gym wars, also they had exclusive coverage of manny pacquiao on his early days, i think steve kim was the guy who nicknamed manny pac man. Mannys first nickname was destroyer.

I'm still a fan of Steve Kim's podcasts cuz they are newsworthy a lot of time, but his snarkiness & bias goes to extreme & cringe worthy levels a lil too much for me sometimes.

Why is this site a joke? Are you the owner of esb bn24 who tried to eliminate all other smaller sites with devious tactics?

Boxingscene is way better, there were other good sites but esb owner ruined them with negative tactics which hurt their rank, like creating alts and spamming their forums with stuff.
