Sure do have him on your mind a lot. Obsessed! What's funny is you're probably broke. It's always the broke ones making corny jokes about people more successful than they are.

Ortiz's big head is there to be landed on all night. No way bronze bomber misses that cranium with the over hand right, good night.

I have a feeling that Wilder will sleep Ortiz, who says he is 38 but likely 45

It definitely does make sense for Wilder to fight Ortiz... doesn't make sense for Ortiz to fight Wilder though.

Wilder needs a win like Ortiz to legitimise his world title reign (feel free to come at me fanboys; but it's true and you know it). Moreover a win for Wilder against a top 5 heavy in Ortiz is also a big statement to Joshua and would increase the clamour for a Joshua v Wilder fight tenfold, would also most likely allow Wilder a bigger slice of the pie too. Granted beating Ortiz may not increase Wilder's standing in the UK casual market, especially when you consider all they've really seen of Ortiz is the 2 fights when Hearn was co-promoting him where he looked pretty average.

For Ortiz on the other hand other than meaning he gets a title shot now rather than later i'm really not seeing the upsides? The likelihood is that he's still got to wait the best part of a year to get Joshua in the ring (with Klitschko and IBF mandatory Pulev being before him) but surely this fight is one hell of a risk to losing that fight... a fight which undoubtedly will bring in the most money Ortiz could possibly make in a single event.

Granted I say all this but for us boxing fans it's a great fight that everyone would want.

Ortiz will give Deontay a very tough fight because he is durable. If Bermane Stiverne doesn't want to step aside for Ortiz to fight Deontay Wilder, then he should be made to fight Ortiz for the winner to face Wilder in the fall.

This is the type of fight I wanted for Wilder. Let's see what the champ is truly made of. Like Spence if he wins big here I will become a believer. I hope this happens this is a great match up.

I think there's a counter argument for Ortiz taking this fight (if it becomes available to him). Exactly the reason you pointed out - it's a while before he gets a shot against Joshua, to me that makes it all the more sensible for Ortiz to take a shot now. He can't wait around forever, and if any heavyweight in the game right now has to have urgency and speed up the timeline to a bit fight, it's him - father time will cripple him faster than anyone.

Ortiz isn't in a position to be patient. He needs a big fight now. Plus, by the time he does get a go at Joshua (12-18 months away), Joshua is going to be a better fighter than he is today. Joshua is most likely better than Wilder right now - he'll be two steps ahead in a year and a half. Joshua will be improved, Ortiz will be older and probably worse.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush as they say.

Floyd will be detailing my car before it's all over. I'll make him shuck and jive for a tip.
