Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: I'm Ready To Fight Guillermo Rigondeaux Next!

According to WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KOs), he is ready, willing and able to fight WBA super bantamweight titlist Guillermo Rigondeaux (18-0, 12 KOs) in the fall. The two fighters are currently two weight divisions apart. If Rigondeaux wants the fight, he will have to move fast as Lomachenko is already mulling another move in weight, to the lightweight limit of 135-pounds.

Most so call boxing fans no nothing about what goes on behind the scene when trying to negotiate a potential fight! We see guys all the time claim they will fight anyone but never does! I believe its different with these two champs! I think the only problem will be weight & maybe money! I don't think Rigo will come up pass 130 & it seem as if Loma is on his way up to 135. Also, it depends on how much money Rigo demands! Its no secret Rigo doesn't earn near as much as Loma but I do think Rigo deserves to be paid well if the fight happens. People will complain that Arum is holding up the fight but Haymon, Dela Hoya, Hearns, K-2, etc. will all do what benefits there company. Its funny how most people call out Arum but turn a blind eye to all those other promoters! Floyd has pretty much stated he will not let Tank go nowhere near Loma anytime in the near future! Where is the outcry about that?

Lomachenko fought Salido in his second fight because him and his team felt he was ready. Why would it take him this long to be ready to fight Rigondeaux?

How long before Arum takes the blame and his fans believe it. "Arum won't let him"

Just like the gullible fools who believed Pacquiao had no say in who he fought.

I think Loma beats Rigo straight up. Don't know why so many people suggesting Loma trying to duck. Loma is a hell of a fighter and his size will be the difference.

Unfortunately the fight will be boring for a long while because Rigo is exceptional at slowing down the pace. Loma's larger size and jab will force Rigo to be a smudge more aggressive and I think Loma takes advantage of that although he will eat a few shots for his efforts

We all know Loma wants the fight! We all also know, that it makes absolutely no difference what Loma wants! I don't know why the author even brings up "Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Lomachenko, claims his office has yet to receive any communication from Rigondeaux's handlers to make the fight a reality." #1, Loma is the champ, and the "A-side." Arum is responsible for making offers, not taking offers. #2, does anyone trust what Arums says? I hope Loma is successful in pushing for the fight!

The thing here is what we are talking about Rigondeaux, when I saw that guy dismantling Donaire I knew the dude was a very rare special talent.

I got Lomachenko on my #3 P4P spot right now, the dude is an awesome fighter but even thou he might be a lot bigger than Rigo, I still think The Jackal is so special he could even compete at higher weights and still make fun of the other guys.

I'd love this fight and I would not know who I'd favor.

Rigo is a special talent, no question about it, but I also think Loma is a special talent.

It would be a similar compete level to the September fight of GGG v Canelo, but I actually think both Loma and Rigo are more skilled for their weights than either of GGG or Canelo...so it would be an incredible fight although it wouldn't be nearly as important to mainstream fans

I'd favor Loma because the only style he's shown ANY difficulty with is the "rough 'em up" tactics and Rigo fights ZERO percent like that...hell even NEGATIVE percent like that.

However, Rigo has shown he is human time and again against smart pressure fighters and clever counters. Loma has the size advantage and can do those things WHILE staying mobile and preventing Rigo from landing those sharp counters. Again I could see how Rigo could possibly win, but Loma isn't one of those limited opponents who can only do 1 or 2 things right...he does many things well and I more likely imagine Loma breaking Rigo down due to size, youth, and general dexterity of skills

And, as Andre Ward said, I have Rigo in the top 5 PFP easily.
