Consider Lomachencko vs Conor McGregor's entry in pro boxing

Its absurd to think Conor can even beat a C level pro boxer over 12.

Lomachenko was 396-1 with TWO gold medals and despite a good showing, still lost to Salido in his second pro fight. Thats all down to experience and stamina/pacing.

How in holy hell do people actually think McGregor could beat some of the B level fighters out there much less Mayweather? Even given someone with no power and a weakened chin like Paulie or khan, he still dont have the boxing stamina to make it 12 rounds.

I mean I'm not buying into this circus show but his experience of headlining big shows and fighting over longer distances are the two advantages that Conor actually has over a world class amateur making the switch to pro boxing. We already know that he thrives under pressure and that he can fight at a high level for 25 mins. Lomachenko had mostly fought 3x3s with a handful of 5x3s, and although competing in the Olympics is undoubtedly a high pressure scenario it's a different sort of environment to a big professional show where you have no teammates and are representing yourself rather than your country. That being said, McGregor is at such a huge disadvantage in terms of technique that it's all academic anyway

I really never thought about this way. I thought Lomachenko and his team was completely arrogant to think he could beat Salido in his second fight despite his amateur pedigree. Salido is not Mayweather. I just think it's funny that McGregor, his trainer, and MMA fans think he stands a chance against Mayweather.

Even if they don't think Conor has a chance, they sure as hell are not gonna say it

People aren't buying this PPV to see who wins, they are buying to see what happens. And like it or not thats always the number 1 reason why people have purchased the best selling combat sports PPV's.

It's a foregone conclusion that Mayweather wins. The fight has started already, it's the press conferences and the whole spectacle it's created. That's all it is. The actual fight in the ring is just a formality.

I agree Mayweather will beat McGregor easily...but Loma is not a good comparison.

Loma's World Series fights were basically pro fights, so he actually had up to around 16 pro style fights. This argument about him lacking experience is all bunch of excuses someone thought up to justify the newest TR darling losing to Salido.

They're giving us little clues like saying he's "improving" meaning they know he won't win. But then they go back to script a minute later and say he'll score a huge upset.
