Comments Thread For: Garcia Expects Broner to Be Biggest Puncher He Has Faced

One of the most significant things Mikey Garcia learned about Adrien Broner from Marcos Maidana is that Broner can punch. Maidana who was trained by Garcia's older brother/trainer, Robert Garcia even told Garcia that his 12-round fight against Broner took something out of him. The hard-hitting Argentine's advice resonated with Mikey Garcia, who expects that Broner will emerge as the hardest puncher he has encountered in his career.

Both will be the best opponent each has faced. Broner will be biggest strongest and hits hard. Garcia moving up 2 weights no joke

Last fight went from 130-135 with tough bearded guy knocked him cold. So now moving to 140 power should move up can't get into rough stuff wrestling clinches like Horn did

To me, the key to the entire fight is Mikey's ability to hurt Broner. And Mikey's ability to take Broner's shots. If Mikey can't hurt Broner, Adrien isn't gonna be on him all night and make it a grueling fight. If Mikey has a hard time absorbing Broner's shots, it's gonna force him to almost fight perfect defensively. And it could make him reluctant to throw because Broner is a good counterpuncher. Either way, I think we'll find out early in the fight. Because I don't think it's gonna take long for both guys to land a significant shot.

This fight is not a good one for Garcia. The big variables here are Broner's condition overall and how his drop to 140 affects him. He said he was at 144 and could make weight tomorrow - but if he has nothing left to shed?

This reminds me a little of Brook and Khan moving up to face GGG and Canelo . All the glory is yours if you can pull it off but all the odds are against you.

Garcia's best chance is to stay elusive and just outwork Broner to win the rounds. But that was also Brook's and Khan's mandate - and see how that worked out for them.

I really like Garcia and jsut as Brook got a lot of credit for moving up to face GGG I give Garcia a lot of credit. If Broner shows up in good shape I have him by late stoppage.

But if slow hand maidana and granados landed all night fast pinpoint accurate harder hitter Garcia will bust him up. Key is moving up 2 weights can he handle broners strength and the rough stuff and punch.

If he handles broners punch it's a done deal he makes maidana and granados look like zombies

Nice breakdown. Broner is a good counter puncher. He dropped Porter last round right? How much more of a shot do you suppose Porter can take compared to Garcia?
I love these kind of fights when someone moves up and challenges themselves. Real intriguing. And often foolish. But no better way to make a statement if you can pull it off.
