Is Rigo's small size actually a advantage?

I been seeing a few Rigo clips and old fights on youtube to see what Loma might do if the fight gets made.

I noticed one thing is Rigo always bends really low below the belt line when his opponents are throwing. His defense is good especially when he has faster reflexes then his opponent already but he does some illegal tactics which he pulls off being small target. The holding behind the head he did in the nonito fight also, hes actually pretty strong for his size but wonder if he would have trouble man handling someone like Loma if he moves up to 130.

Small size is never an advantage...

If skills are on the same level, bigger/heavier guy always win...

I don't think you can go as far as saying his small size will be an "advantage" but his small size, speed and movement might give Loma headaches trying to catch him.

Rigo's sport before boxing was actually wrestling... and I believe Loma also wrestled. Neither guy really uses manhandling tactics though. Loma will obviously have the strength advantage but Rigo is a very strong guy for his size.

I am really curious how Loma is going to nullify Rigo's left hand which is so quick. How is Loma going to continuously get close to Rigo to land shots without getting tagged by that left. Loma won't have the vastly superior timing and footwork that he's thus had against all his previous opponents. It will be interesting to see which fighter figures the other's timing out first.

Both guys are super skilled but yet fight so differently. Loma looks like he's always moving a lot, doing these side steps, going in and out as he closes the distance. Rigo is a minimalist, making the smallest, barely noticeable adjustments.

I think Rigo edges out Loma in speed, so that might be a factor too. He also has a longer reach. However, if Loma is able to walk through Rigo's power, the advantage will quickly turn to Loma

Yep, Rigo was hurt by Donaire, even though he was clearly dominating him... then dropped twice by local japanese dude.

What did you think of his fight with Cordoba?

              If anything it's a disadvantage.

His defense is good against slower, predictable fighters who aren't very good. Against Loma he'd be facing easily the best opponent of his career, someone who has hand speed and great footwork. He'd get KOed inside 5 most likely.

that is very untrue...any atribute an athlete has can be used as an advantage..if you are little..be little....use it to your advantage..be small

It's a disadvantage because his face is smaller than Lomas fist, and he's already chinny Loma could put the old man in a coma.
