I don't know why the hell McGregor is going to be using Paulie Malignaggi as a sparring partner. Paulie looked so fat and bloated just last week while commentating during the promotional tour. He doesn't exactly look like someone who's going to put up any kind of a respectable fight at this stage....and he's also a shot fighter, way past his prime. Bad choice by McGregor's team.

The are doing it for the same reason they didn't allow Connor to fight a tune up, against a mid level contender or below, before facing an ATG in the ring

because even a gatekeeper type of fighter would put a beatdown on Connor and embarrass the clown, and that would kill the circus match.

That's why they needed staged photos, instead of releasing actual sparring footage. If Connor had looked legitimately great in that sparring, you can bet they would have posted the video all over the internet
