Bazooka Joe will be back once they install Titanium in his chin!.

He needs a new trainer or just add a more experienced trainer to school him on jabs and body shots and fainting!

Several times he could've set up Barrera for a KO, if your man is looking out for your right hand then you cut the ring off away from his left and draw him in with feints with the right hand then chop him down with a left hook or jab downstairs!

His corner kept saying knock him out and throw not punches was lackadaisical and no merit!

Joe has huge power, heart, toughness but just add a jab, body shots and cutting the ring he'd be a lightheavy version of GGG but with not as good of a chin!

Kovalev vs Barrera should be next!

I didn't understand how it was a 10-round "championship" bout to begin with. This sport gets stranger by the day.

Yeah it was a regional championship belt but Main Events and Star Boxing promotions changed it last minute before the fight from 12 rounds to 10 rounds. Even HBO didn't know. Who initiated it Main Events (Barrera promoter) or Star (Smith promoter) and why the other side agreed? who knows but amateur hour to not even tell the fighters. lol

          Heh heh No doubt.

This is what gets me. It's just one thing after the other with this sport. SMH

Should always be 10 rds and 12 for title fights which is sanctioned by the commissions and gov bodies. Not promoters. Fkng shady biz.

Thats true, but thats almost a whole other topic.

I'd like to see boxing tiered off on a skill/accomplishment level by rounds. You win you move up to more rounds vs better guys. You lose you move down to less rounds vs lesser guys. Start at 4 rounders, win ~2-5 fights & move up, win ~2-5 more fights at 6 rounds & you move up, win ~2-5 more fights at 8 rounds, win ~2-5 more fights at 10 rounds vs other top prospects & contenders & then you move up to 12 rounds vs the top 20 or 30 guys in the world. Sport would be much more competitive at all levels if guys were paired up better + we didn't have to see guys not trying to win or can't even win in long fights.

I really like Barrera, seems like a decent dude and his style is pleasing to my eye. Ward's victory over him definitely looks better now in my opinion. I don't think any LHW has an easy time with him.
Boxing just cannot help itself even if it tried.
No wonder it is often referred to as the Wild Wild West.
