Comments Thread For: Chocolatito Has Deep Belief That Rematch Will Be Different

By Thomas Gerbasi - The resume of Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez ensures that he will never have to resort to trash talk or hyperbole to promote a fight. But if anything was needed to sell his September 9 rematch with Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, the Nicaraguan took care of that with one sentence as he insists that the second bout with the only man to beat him will be even more exciting than the first...

Chocolatito can only win if he decides to spar with boxers that possess dynamites in their punches like Rungvisai. maybe he can train with bantamweight boxers to acquaint himself.

I thought he won the first, but I don't see Gonzalez having a long career with that style regardless.

I'm not sure what he could do differently. I know the cut was bad but I don't think that's the only reason he lost. Rungvisai was just so much bigger than him and has a lot of power. His punches were affecting Chocolatito way more. This might be one of those fights where he's just up against a bigger, more rugged fighter who can punch.

In away it reminds me of when Mosely fought Winky Wright. There was nothing Mosely could have do done to win those matches.

This will be his third fight at this weight so he should be more acclimated to it. His team needs to make sure that the ref is aware that this dude likes to use his head like a third fist. Even the knockdown was because of a headbutt. His power is not the same at this weight but I see him getting the W this fight like he should have gotten the last one.
